Smugglers Den Campground

Smuggler's Den Campground has been owned by the Worcester Family since it was established in 1969. Smuggler's Den has 106 Sites made up of Tent, Group, Popup and RV Sites along with Rustic and Deluxe Camp Cabins, RV Rentals and Vacation Rentals - CedarShore & SugarMaple. We have a Heated Pool w/slide, Kiddie Pool, Playground and Large Recreational Field. We have Free Hot Showers, Clean Bathrooms, Laundry and offer Campfire Wood, Ice, Coffee and Snacks for Sale in our Campground Store. We also have Lobsters for Sale and have Lobster Pots and Crackers to borrow so you can cook your lobsters at your site (yes, we have cooking directions)! Smuggler's Den borders Acadia National Park on the "Quietside" of Mount Desert Island. You can walk through the woods to Echo Lake Sand Beach in Acadia National Park from your campsite in about 20 minutes. You can also hike Western and/or Beech Mountains from your campsite. We are 1.5 miles to Southwest Harbor and are a 10 minutes drive to Bass Harbor Head Light House and Seawall. Smuggler's Den is a 20 mile from drive from Bar Harbor and the Acadia National Park Visitor Center. You can jump on the free Island Explorer Shuttle bus which runs late June - early October right from the campground to visit vatious stops all over Mount Desert Island!
