Drive-in tent-only campsite A highlight of the Orange Creek Restoration Area is its marsh edge trails featuring an abundance and diversity of wading birds, as well as its numerous recreational opportunities, including primitive tent camping. Drive-in tent camping is allowed by reservation in a designated campsite on the property's North Tract, off 219th Avenue (Island Grove Road). The campsite includes a fire ring, benches, picnic table, pavilion, and a nearby well with security light. There are no restrooms. Reservations are required at least 48 hours in advance and may be made up to 90 days in advance. RVs, campers, ATVs, UTVs and dirt bikes are prohibited. The campsite access gate is located 2.1 miles east of U.S. 301 off S.E. 219th Avenue (Island Grove Road), or 6/10ths of a mile past the parking area. Vehicle make, model and license plate number of all vehicles entering the property must be provided when booking the campsite. Recreational activities at Orange Creek Restoration Area include hiking, wildlife viewing, birdwatching, bicycling, horseback riding and seasonal small game hunting. The trail systems are very popular with equestrian users for their shady canopy and resemblance to “Olde Florida.” This campsite is located within an active cattle lease area, and ca mpers must close and lock the gates when entering or exiting the property.
