Hike-in / boat-in tent-only campsite Located along the shoreline of the St. Johns River on the Lake Monroe Conservation Area's Brickyard Slough tract, this riverfront hike-in/boat-in campsite is about 2 miles south of the State Road 415 parking area. The hike-in campsite is located on the red trail at the waterfront. The campsite has a fire ring with grill, picnic tables and benches. A day shelter is nearby for boaters to use in inclement weather (not for camping and not part of the designated campsite). Reservations must be made online at least 48 hours in advance and may be made up to 90 days in advance. Visitors to Lake Monroe Conservation Area can enjoy beautiful views of open floodplain marsh on both the Brickyard Slough and Kratzert tracts. There are about 7.6 miles of multi-use trails on the Brickyard Slough tract. Recreational activities at Lake Monroe Conservation Area include fishing, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, seasonal hunting (Kratzert Tract) and wildlife viewing. Boaters and paddlers can access the conservation area but there are no launches located on-site.
