Hike-in tent-only campsite Located along the majestic St. Johns River in Clay County, the J.P. Hall Bayard Conservation Area is open to the public for hiking, bicycling, equestrian activities, fishing and primitive tent camping. The 10,500-acre property protects 7 miles of the St. Johns River and offers more than 15 miles of blazed trails and three reservation-only campsites. Hike-in Campsite 2 is located in a flatwood hammock with an ephemeral stream nearby and within easy walking distance of the picnic area at Water Oak Branch Crossing, which has a concrete/vault restroom. The campsite has a fire ring with grill and picnic table. There is no water source or shelter. Reservations are required at least 48 hours in advance and may be made up to 90 days in advance. The campsite is hike-in only. Motorized vehicles, including RVs, motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, dirt bikes and passenger vehicles, are prohibited at the campsite. Maximum occupancy at this tent-only campsite is six people. Maximum length of stay is 7 days. J.P. Hall Bayard Point Conservation is a Wildlife Management Area (WMA) and allows seasonal hunting.
