Hike-in tent-only campsite With almost 30 miles of trails, Buck Lake Conservation Area is known for its recreational opportunities, including hiking, horseback riding and bicycling. It also offers seasonal hunting, fishing, wildlife viewing and two primitive tent campsites. The designated hike-in campsite located on the eastern side of the property is a remote, backcountry camping experience with few amenities. The site has a fire ring with grill, picnic tables, benches and non-potable water pitcher pump. Reservations are required and must be made at least 48 hours in advance and may be made up to 90 days in advance. Include vehicle makes, models and license plate numbers of vehicles left overnight in the parking area to receive a parking permit (not required). Maximum occupancy at this campsite is six people, and campers may camp up to 7 consecutive days. The hike-in campsite is accessible from the eastern parking area on State Road 46. Hike-in campsites do not allow motorized vehicle access past the parking area. RVs cannot be parked in SJRWMD parking areas overnight. Because this property is a Wildlife Management Area, camping is not permitted during hunting seasons. For more information about hunting, visit myfwc.com/recreation/cooperative/buck-lake.
