Hike-in tent-only campsite Black Creek Ravines Conservation Area has a remarkable variety of Florida landscapes, with elevations ranging from 5 feet above mean sea level at points along Black Creek to 90 feet above mean sea level on the sandhills. Its seepage slopes and steep ravines result from a series of naturally eroding seepage streams and support a wide variety of native aquatic and wetland-dependent species. A spectacular bluff offers breathtaking views from almost 30 feet above Black Creek. A popular feature of this property is a water-view campsite on a bluff near the creek. This hike-in/boat-in campsite is not located directly on the shoreline; if boating to camp, please be aware that your boat will be left unattended overnight. Important: You cannot drive a motor vehicle to this campsite. Reservations must be made a full 48 hours in advance and may be made up to 90 days in advance. Include vehicle makes, models and license plate numbers of vehicles left overnight in the parking area to receive a parking permit. (Parking permit is not required for hike-in/boat-in campsites.) This campsite has a fire ring and grill, picnic table and tall table (no chairs or benches). The maximum occupancy at this campsite is six people. The maximum length of stay is 7 consecutive days. Recreational activities on the property include hiking, horseback riding, fishing, wildlife viewing and nature study. Boating and canoeing opportunities are available on Black Creek, and the conservation area is accessible by water; however, no launches are located on the property. Bicycles are not allowed on Black Creek Ravines because of the property's sensitive ecosystems. Recreational vehicles (RVs) and campers, ATVs, UTVs and dirt bikes are prohibited on all District lands.
